John 10: 1-10 - Follow Your Shepherd

In the twenty-fifth message of our series through the Gospel of John, Pastor Richard continues into John 10:1–10, where Jesus reveals Himself as the Good Shepherd who protects, provides for, and leads His people into abundant life.

Drawing on the rich biblical imagery of shepherding, this message explores how Jesus fulfills God's promise in Ezekiel 34 to come personally as the Shepherd of His people. In contrast to the false shepherds who exploit and scatter the flock, Jesus comes as the true Shepherd who knows His sheep by name, guards them from the thief, and faithfully leads them to safety, provision, and life.

Pastor Richard reflects on what it means to hear and follow the Shepherd's voice. Just as sheep depend entirely on their shepherd for protection and nourishment, we were never meant to navigate life on our own. Left to ourselves, we wander, become vulnerable to the enemy, and ultimately find that every path apart from Christ leads to emptiness and death. Yet Jesus seeks the lost with compassion, calls us back to Himself, and offers the abundant life that only He can give.

Through connections to Psalm 23, Isaiah 53, and the ministry of Jesus throughout the Gospels, this message reminds us that following Christ is about more than avoiding danger—it is about discovering the fullness of life found in His presence. As Jesus transforms our lives, He also equips us to help others experience the hope, peace, and restoration that only the Good Shepherd can provide.

Join us as we continue our journey through the Gospel of John, learning to recognize the Shepherd's voice, trust His leading, and experience the life to the full that Jesus promises to all who follow Him.
