In the twenty-sixth message of our series through the Gospel of John, Pastor Richard continues into John 10:22–29 during the Feast of Dedication, where Jesus confronts a crowd that refuses to recognize who He truly is. Though they ask Him to plainly declare whether He is the Messiah, Jesus reveals that their problem is not a lack of evidence, but hearts unwilling to hear the voice of their Shepherd.

This message explores the danger of creating a version of God that fits our own preferences, assumptions, or expectations. Looking at the historical significance of Hanukkah and the rededication of the temple, Pastor Richard shows how God continues to call His people to remove anything that dishonors Him and to consecrate every part of their lives for His purposes. Just as the religious leaders allowed their own ideas to blind them to the Messiah standing before them, we too can miss what God is doing when we elevate our own opinions above the truth of Scripture.

Through biblical history, personal testimony, and Jesus' promise that His sheep hear His voice, we are challenged to lay down our pride, surrender our desire to always be right, and trust the One who knows us perfectly. Rather than conforming God to our image, Jesus invites us to be transformed into His.

Join us as we continue our journey through the Gospel of John, discovering that abundant life is found not by following our own voice, but by listening to the Good Shepherd who holds His people securely in His hands.
