John 5:15-47 - Make Sure You Don't Miss This!

In the sixteenth message of our series through the Gospel of John, Pastor Richard continues in John 5:16–47, where Jesus boldly declares His authority as the Son of God — and confronts those who have allowed tradition to blind them to the work of God happening right in front of them.  

Following last week's healing at the Pool of Bethesda, the religious leaders aren't rejoicing over a miracle — they're offended that a man is carrying his mat on the Sabbath. In protecting their traditions and authority, they have completely missed the point.  

Pastor Richard challenges us with a danger that is just as present in the church today: when tradition becomes more important than transformation, we risk becoming the very obstacle that keeps others from encountering Jesus. And Jesus doesn't stay quiet — He claims the authority to give life and to judge, and reminds His listeners that the Scriptures they have studied their whole lives testify about Him.
