John 9:8-38 - Stand Up Boldy!
In the twenty-fourth message of our series through the Gospel of John, Pastor Richard continues into John 9:8–38, exploring what happens after Jesus transforms a life and how a growing faith produces a growing testimony.
Following the miraculous healing of the man born blind, the focus shifts from the miracle itself to the response it provokes. As neighbors question what happened, the Pharisees reject the evidence before them, and even the man's own parents shrink back in fear, one voice continues to grow stronger. With each challenge, the man who was healed becomes increasingly confident in what he knows to be true: "I was blind but now I see."
This message explores the contrast between fear and boldness, showing how faith often begins with a single act of obedience but deepens as we continue to stand firmly on what God has done in our lives. Pastor Richard reminds us that opposition should not surprise believers. Throughout Scripture, God's work is often met with resistance, yet every opportunity to remain faithful strengthens our trust in Christ and our witness to the world.
Through the testimony of the healed man, the example of the religious leaders, and the fear displayed by those closest to the miracle, we are challenged to examine our own lives. Are we allowing fear of people or culture to silence our faith, or are we boldly proclaiming the transforming work of Jesus? Like the man in John 9, our understanding of Christ grows as we continue to trust Him, stand for Him, and worship Him.
Join us as we continue our journey through the Gospel of John—learning to stand boldly, hold fast to the truth of what Christ has done, and confidently share our testimony with a world that desperately needs the hope of Jesus.
