In the opening message of our new sermon series, “The Gospel According to John,” Pastor Richard invites us to begin the new year with a renewed focus on being rooted and established in Jesus Christ and His teachings.

This introductory message sets the stage for our journey through the Gospel of John by exploring why the book was written, who wrote it, and why its message continues to speak powerfully into our world today. John makes his purpose unmistakably clear: that we might believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing, we may have life in His name. This Gospel is written not just for believers, but for the world — inviting hearts and minds from every background to encounter the truth of who Jesus is.

As Pastor Richard shares, Jesus’ teachings reveal the heart of God and show us what life looks like in the Kingdom of God. When our lives are built on that foundation, we are prepared for life’s storms and shaped into the people God created us to be — not through our own strength, but through the transforming work of Christ in us.

This message also challenges us to begin the year with intentional reflection: to consider who Jesus is to us right now and to prayerfully ask what we want to see God do in our lives in the year ahead. As we grow in our understanding of Jesus and walk in obedience to Him, we are invited into a deeper, eternal life that begins now.

Whether you are exploring faith, returning to the basics, or seeking to grow deeper in your walk with Christ, this sermon offers a clear and compelling invitation to believe, to obey, and to live rooted in the truth of God’s Kingdom.

Join us as we begin this journey through the Gospel of John — discovering who Jesus truly is and allowing God to shape our lives as a church family, firmly rooted in Christ and ready for what’s ahead.
